Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across Japan on Saturday, April 13, to protest the country’s possible accession to the World Health Organization‘s (WHO) proposed Pandemic Treaty.
Officially, the WHO’s proposed Pandemic Treaty would help prepare the world for the next global health emergency and allow vaccines to be distributed equitably around the world. Signatories would be legally bound to the stipulations within the treaty, committing them to monitoring possible pandemic threats and beefing up their capacity to respond to disease outbreaks.
The biggest single protest took place in Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park in Tokyo, with speakers including molecular pathology professor Masayasu Inoue of the Kumamoto University School of Medicine and historian Chikatsu Hayashi, who both expressed opposition to WHO, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the prevailing medical strategies concerning Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) mRNA vaccines.
Inoue and Hayashi’s speeches highlighted the perceived encroachments of global health authorities in partnership with pharmaceutical companies, and the potential dangers of genetic vaccines.
Demonstrators criticized the lack of explanations for a sharp increase in excess deaths related to the COVID-19 vaccines and demanded accountability and clarity on vaccine-related casualties. Inoue, in his address, articulated a stark vision of the current global health scenario: “Our health is being used as a weapon, and now we’re in the midst of a third world war fought with information, questioning whether responsible adults are aware and able to protect themselves accordingly,” he said. He further warned against the introduction of genetic vaccines which utilize the body’s mechanisms to produce agents that could potentially harm rather than heal.
“To everyone here, among friends and acquaintances, introducing genetic vaccines into the body should not be done, regardless of the type,” said Inoue. “Take this as the key message home; by doing so, I hope you can protect your children and grandchildren.”
Adding to the discourse, Hayashi called for resistance against what he termed global totalitarian tendencies encompassed in the WHO’s plans, including the pandemic treaty and amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR).
“We stand against WHO, global totalitarianism, pandemic treaties, submarine IHR, genetic vaccines, plandemic, control of information, and declare to eliminate all these,” Hayashi stated. “Let’s stop the third atomic bomb with our hands, in the hands of the Japanese people. Shall we not?”
The demonstration also served as a platform to critique the sharp rise in unexplained excess deaths and demand transparency and accountability from health authorities about vaccine-related injuries and deaths.
This sentiment was particularly poignant in light of the WHO and various world leaders calling for a swift agreement on a multilateral pandemic preparedness and prevention plan, which critics argue lacks sufficient transparency and inclusivity.
